I want to stay at the Animal Kingdom but have heard that you should rent a car to be able to get to the rest of the parks. This doesn`t make sense to me. Are you really that far away? We stayed at Grand Fla. before and got to Animal kingdom on a bus.

Hi Ann! You certainly don't need a car just because you are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You will find great Disney bus transportation from this resort to all parks on property as well as water parks and Downtown Disney. The biggest difference is that you are not within walking distance to any park or able to use boat or monorail transportation as you can with the other deluxe resorts. Some guests just don't like to depend on the busses and thus feel the need to rent a car while at Walt Disney World. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a special experience. Being able to wake up to see a giraffe outside your balcony is unbelievable. It is a quiet and very relaxing resort and a great place to stay to get a break from the hustle and bustle of the crowded parks. There are many guests who are repeaters and who won't stay anywhere else. I suggest you try the resort at least once and decide for yourself if it fits your family and their needs. In any case you will be able to get where you want to go but it will always be by using a bus or a taxi.
