Hi! What will the status of the walking path from the TTC to MK be the first week of January? Is the Polynesian section still closed?

Hey Howdy Hey Deanna and welcome to planDisney!

One of the simple pleasures about staying onsite with Disney Resorts Collection is having beautiful walking paths to enjoy the grounds and efficiently getting from one location to another. The walking path from the Transportation and Ticket Center is one of them but has been impacted by the construction around Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. While construction is wrapping up, some may still affect the pathway.

As of this writing, the walkway is open to get from the ticket center to Magic Kingdom. While much of the construction is wrapping up at the Polynesian for the new Island Tower, full construction is slated to continue through 2026 to some capacity. This may mean temporary restrictions on the pathway depending on what must be done.

I am excited to let you know that the Island Tower is set to welcome Guests starting on December 17th, 2024. With this opening, not only will you have a stop along the way to check out the new location, great shopping options or a place to stop by for a snack, but this may also allow for a detour of the walking path if it needs to be closed for any reason.

I hope this information is helpful. As we get closer to the opening day of the Island Tower, more information will be available on navigating around as construction winds down. Please reach out if you have any other questions. We are always happy to help!

    To Infinity and Beyond,
