Jo from WA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

It states on the web “Kids under 3 years old do not need a theme park ticket. They do need to be added to dining reservations to ensure adequate seating . “ but I can’t see how to add another person to our reservation that without a ticket. Help

Hi there, Jo! Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you're getting all your ducks (or should I say, Donalds and Daisys?) in a row for a fabulous Disneyland adventure! As a fellow foodie, I totally understand that securing those dining reservations is a top priority—I often say my trips are planned one delicious meal at a time!

You're absolutely right! Little Mouseketeers under three years old don't need a theme park ticket, but Mickey and Minnie Mouse definitely want to make sure there's a highchair or a spot at the table for them when you dine. So yes, they do need to be included in your dining reservations.

The great news is that adding them to your reservation is usually as easy as saying "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!". In fact, you can add Guests to your dining reservations even if their tickets and park reservations aren't linked to your account. I do this all the time when I’m meeting up with my pals at the parks!

In many cases, you can modify your existing reservation right in the Disneyland mobile app. To try and work that magic, first open up the app, then tap the menu button (three-lined icon) at the bottom right and select "Future Plans". You should see your upcoming dining reservation listed there; go ahead and give it a tap! You should then see a "Modify" button. Tap that to start making your changes. Next, look for the "Party Size" section and tap the little “Edit” button next to it. This is where you can update the number of Guests. After that, you'll select your preferred date and desired time (which will likely be your existing date and time). Hopefully, your original time slot is still available for the increased party size! Follow the remaining prompts to confirm your updated reservation, and just like that, you should be all set for a delightful meal!

Jo, since you'll have a little one with you, I highly recommend swinging by Mickey's Toontown during your visit! It's such a whimsical land bursting with bright colors and zany fun—it’s perfect for tiny explorers. Imagine their laughter as they explore Goofy's How-to-Play Yard or the wonder in their eyes at CenTOONial Park! Plus, creating those early memories, like meeting Mickey Mouse himself at his house, is just priceless. While you're waiting, you'll get to watch some classic, hilarious Mickey Mouse cartoons! It's a fantastic way to pass the time and will likely have your little one (and you!) giggling even before you get to Mickey's movie barn to meet him. Some of my own earliest core memories are from meeting the pals at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Now that you've got the scoop on settling your dining details, Jo, you'll be all set to relax and soak in every magical moment with your little one, from their first taste of a Mickey-shaped snack to those joyous Toontown adventures. It's these precious experiences that make a Disneyland trip truly unforgettable!

Wishing you a wonderfully delicious visit to the Disneyland Resort! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us!
