Are the stateroom doors on the Wonder Ship metal? I would like to purchase magnetics with my grandchildren's names for them to place on their room doors.

    Hi there, Darla!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, fellow Texan!  I am so thrilled to hEAR you have a Disney Cruise Line vacation planned!  I sure hope you will be joining your grandchildren for a WONDERful voyage with Captain Mickey as it’s sure to be a memorable adventure!  I, myself, am eager to make my way to Galveston later this year to get onboard the Disney Wonder and see the most recent updates!

To answer your question, yes, the stateroom doors on the Disney Wonder are metal and magnets work perfectly on them (although I do suggest STRONG magnets to ensure they do stay put)!  Decorating stateroom doors is always such a fun - and fairly easy - thing to do and it really adds to your experience onboard!  Not only does it add excitement and “spruces up” a normally plain door, but it also makes it easy to recognize your stateroom!  This is often helpful as when you see a long hallway of staterooms, having some sort of way to recognize your stateroom is nice!  Also…did you know there are other tricks to help you identify where you are on the ship?!?  Anytime you are in a stateroom hallway and not certain which way you are headed, just look at the carpet – if the map is upright then you are headed towards the forward (front) of the ship!  If it’s upside down, then you are headed towards the aft (back) of the ship!  Additionally, each stateroom has a metal fish or seahorse outside it and the fish are on the port (left) side of the ship and the seahorses are on the starboard (right) side of the ship!  I didn’t learn these tricks until we had been on many voyages and I sure wish I had known these hints earlier!

Darla, if you have a group traveling together, make sure everyone has the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app downloaded to their smartphones or devices.  There is a handy chat feature on it that makes it super easy to stay connected while onboard…in addition to all the other information you will find on the app such as schedules, menus, deck plans and more!

Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea!

    Happy Sailing!
