We are just starting to pln a DCL trip out of Port Canaval. In planning flights, what would recommend as earliest departure flight back? I want to be sure we have plenty of time to disembark and make flight. Although being "stuck" at DW isn't a b

    Your magic is brewing, Ashley!

That Disney Cruise countdown is on, and you and your family are likely giggling with excitement every time you think of the upcoming magical voyage that you are about to go on!

Disembarkation day is still an event on the Disney Cruise, so try not to rush yourselves that morning. It will be a day with long sad faces, as you bid "see yah next time" to Captain Mickey and his crew. So, enjoy the morning as you arrive back into Port Canaveral, as the ship is cleared for disembarkation at around 7:30 am. A leisurely sit-down breakfast will still need to be enjoyed that morning, either at 6:45 am (if you were early dining) or at 8:00 am (if you had the late dining rotation). Guests will start heading to the gangway and exiting to the port right at 7:30'ish... so you can imagine, there might be a line. You'll go through customs, and then go to baggage claim to collect your luggage. With any type of travel with a couple thousand people, you'll need to plan some time to get through those lines. You'll be glad to know that this whole process is pretty organized with the Disney Cruise. So, don't go off vacation mode yet :-). My family and I usually take it easy that morning, and we're usually one of the last families to leave the ship at around 9am. At our cruise last summer, we were at the curbside boarding ground transportation around 9:30 and there were a couple other families loading their kids, strollers and luggage behind us.

I would suggest that you schedule your flight out anytime after 1:00pm. I am assuming you are flying out of MCO, which is about an hour long trip from the Port. The lines at the
security gates at MCO are usually unpredictable - but usually long, so you'll want to allow some waiting time there.

    I hope this helps!
