Hi Eleanor,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As much as I wish children under 10 were free, only children under the age of 3 do not require a ticket to enter
Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. Even though we knew this, both of my children visited just after their third birthday. If only I had been clever enough to plan those trips a few months earlier!
Walt Disney World Resort recently changed the process for purchasing tickets. There is a
Ticket Guide you may find helpful. When you click to
purchase tickets for the theme parks, you will be prompted to choose between One Park Per Day tickets, tickets with the Park Hopper Option, or tickets with the Park Hopper Plus Option. Once you choose which type of ticket, you will be prompted to choose the date you want your tickets to begin. Once you choose the date, you will be prompted to choose how many adult tickets (age 10 and up) and how many child tickets (age 3-9) you would like to purchase. At that point, you will see the price difference between the adult and child tickets.
Eleanor, thank you for visiting us with your question. I hope you'll let us know if we can help you with any other planning questions.
Wishing you happy planning,
Amy H.
