Starting to plan our trip for Jan 2010. There will be a 3 year old in our group that is allergic to Eggs,Dairy,Chocolate and Nuts. What should we do when making ADR at character meals, buffets etc.. Thanks!!

Hi Richard!  Planning a Disney vacation when you have dietary needs is not difficult.  When you make your advanced reservations please let the cast member know exactly what the dietary restrictions are.  The cast member should then note this on all of your reservations for your stay and they should come up at the specific restaurants when you arrive for each meal.

It is now policy that when you do have dietary restrictions a chef must come to your table to discuss this before you start.  When you are seated please ask your cast member that you will need to speak to a chef concerning the allergies for your child.  This is done in case the notes were somehow deleted from your reservation.  When it is a buffet be sure to talk with a chef before you walk through the lines as often they will prepare something special in the kitchen or at least walk you through so you know what items are good for your child.

When you are using a counter service location please ask the cast member to see the ingredient folder for their food items.  If you need to just ask for the manager in charge and be patient especially during busy dining hours.  Each location is to have a folder with the ingredients for the menu items listed so you are able to see what can be eaten.  Disney cast members are very used to people with special needs of all kind and they will work with you in every way to make sure your vacation is just as magical for all members of your family.

To make dining reservations please call 407-939-3463.  I would suggest you call for your times versus making them on line so you can actually discuss the dietary needs with a cast member.
