Hi, We are starting to plan a trip for our family of 5 for next year at Christmas. Our family's will be joining us and we are looking for advice on reserving dining and event reservations/tickets.

Hi, Windy! We have just returned from our annual Christmas trip to Walt Disney World, and although this is the most crowded time of the whole year, It. Was. AWESOME!

The big thing to know is you have to be more diligent about your planning. You can begin booking dining reservations 180 days in advance, and especially if you want a nice meal on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, you'll want to be online at Walt Disney World Dining Reservations or on the phone to (407) 939-1947 on your 180th day. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you'll be able to make reservations for up to 10 days of your vacation. The most popular dining experiences will likely book well in advance, so make those reservations as soon as you can!

As soon as you have your dates locked down and you know how many days you'll want to spend in the theme parks, go ahead and order your theme park tickets.  That will allow you to link them to your Magic Bands if you are a resort guest, and when you are 60 days away, you can book your FastPass+ times. These are so crucial over the holidays! The lines are their longest between Christmas and New Year's, so it's nice to know that you'll have at least three attractions where you won't be waiting in a standby line.

You can use My Disney Experience to add the whole family together, which will allow one person to make dining and FastPass+ reservations. It can be easier to coordinate things that way!

If you have any other questions as you plan, please come on back! I love planning for the holidays at Disney World!
