I am starting to plan a family vacation March 5-10 (start and end date can be flexible but that week span . We are travelling with 7 adults and 3 children (13, 10, 6 y.o) 3 adults are mid 70’s. We need hotel, dining and park passes for Disney World.

    Hi Alissa,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! I’m so excited to hEAR that you’re planning a multi-generational family vacation, it’ll be super fun! I’m sure there will be memories that’ll last a lifetime.

As you’re starting to think about your plan, it’s important to first determine where you’ll stay. One of the great benefits of staying in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel is that you’re close to the magic! Keep in mind that there are various room types: Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villas.

If you want separate spaces, you could do multiple Value or Moderate rooms. Or if you prefer to have the same living space and kitchen with separate bedrooms and bathrooms, the Deluxe Villas could be a great option. Some of my favorite resorts I’ve stayed in are Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa could also be another great option. Take a look at the Disney Resorts Collection and see which might be the best for your family!

For your tickets, you’ll want to think about the number of days and which type of ticket the family would prefer. There are one park per day tickets, Park Hopper tickets, and even water park tickets! With one park per day, you’ll be able to exit and re-enter the same park that you have a reservation for that day. So, if you’re staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian and you’re doing a Magic Kingdom Park day, you could head back to the resort, relax, and go back into the Park later that day or evening. With Park Hopper tickets, you’ll be able to enter another Park after 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon.

Don’t forget, you’ll need to book your Disney Park Pass reservations after you purchase your family’s tickets.

When going on a big family trip, I suggest that some events are done together, like having a dinner or breakfast with the entire family. Keep in mind, you don’t need to do everything together, all day. If some people would rather relax versus be in the Parks, that’s okay! Sometimes it’s nice to split into smaller groups so more can get accomplished.

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you begin preparing for your 2023 trip! If you have any other planning questions as you start the process, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
