    Starting our first trip to Disney (9/13-20) with a surprise lunch at Chef Mickey for our 3 children (5, 4 & 2). Want to make sure we don't miss it. How much time should we allow for check-in at Carribbean Beach? Is it best to drive ourselves?

    I would allow about 45 minutes to check in.  It usually doesn't take that long, but if there is a large group it just might.  If you are taking the Disney Transportation System allow yourself about an hour of travel time.  However, if your schedule is tight, I would recommend driving over to the Contemporary Resort.  When you enter the Contemporary Resort area, stop at the guard house and have your resort parking pass along with your reservation number for Chef Mickey's.  They will direct you to the parking area and the surprise lunch with Mickey will commence!!
