We are starting our first Disney cruise on Friday and have a port check in for 2:15. We are driving a rental and parking. Can we get to the port before our checkin time and park? Is there anything to do at the port before we get on the boat?

    Hi Derek!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  You are going on a Disney Cruise Line vacation TOMORROW!!!  I am just so very excited for you (and completely, 100% envious, if I was being completely honest)!!!  You are going to have the most magical adventure at sea with Captain Mickey and make some of the best memories ever!

Embarkation day is a day filled with so much excitement!  From first seeing the beautiful Disney Dream to meeting the incredible Cast Members that will take the best care of you while onboard, it will be a magical day!  Since you are driving in, my recommendation would be to make it a leisurely morning making your way to Port Canaveral and make any last stops that you want to make – we always carry on our own water bottles and wine, so if you need any of those last minute necessities, grab them before heading to the cruise terminal.  From my experience, arriving a little earlier than your scheduled Port Arrival Time won’t be an issue, but the Port Arrival Times are scheduled to reduce congestion and excessive waits to go through security and the check-in process.  I would honestly say that if you arrived anytime after 12:00PM, you shouldn’t have a problem checking in.  During check-in you will be assigned a boarding card number and once your group is called you can board the ship!  Once onboard, you will find the buffet restaurant open and serving lunch as well as the quick serve restaurants by the pool.  We always have a big breakfast and then get lunch once onboard!  And, get your first chocolate chip cookie at that time, too!

Have just the best time and don’t forget to visit the Future Cruise Desk to book your NEXT Disney Cruise Line vacation!

    Happy Sailing!
