When can I start to reserve my dinning if I arrive on July 9?

    Hello Ashley-Lynne,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

Deciding where to dine and booking those reservations can be one of the most fun parts of planning a Walt Disney World vacation. There are so many delicious and unique places to eat, you're sure to enjoy some fantastic meals and make some wonderful memories!

Guests can start making dining reservations 60 days in advance. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you can book reservations for your entire trip (or the first 10 days of it) 60 days before your resort check-in day. According to my calculations, May 10 is the 60 day mark.

One tip when making your reservations is to book meals in order of preference, and then schedule your park days around those. For example, if you really want to experience dining at California Grill for a stunning view of fireworks, you won't be alone. It's a highly popular restaurant! However, if you are flexible with your plans, you may have an easier time securing that reservation towards the end of your vacation stay, since that would be more than 60 days out.

My other tip is to have back up options in mind. You may not get that California Grill reservation, but you and your family might easily be able to make a reservation to another restaurant that is new to you, and more often than not you'll be pleasantly surprised. I know our family had this experience recently when the only reservation available was Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. We discovered a new family favorite on that trip, and we look forward to going back!

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
