How do I start planning a Disney world vacation?

    Hi Kevin,

We are excited to see you stopping by planDisney with a fantastic question! It's nice to see you planning early!

First things first, determine the dates that you want to visit. Once you have dates identified, check the Special Offers to see if there are any Special Offers applicable to the dates of your visit. Before searching for vacation packages, I also recommend that you review the Disney Resorts Collection options. Decide which resort hotels have the amenities and room categories that you prefer.

My family prefers resort hotels with multiple transportation and dining options so we tend to pick resort hotels with access to Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation. These include Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. We especially enjoy the dining options at these resort hotels including 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I have also enjoyed staying at resort hotels with access to the Disney Skyliner. These include Disney's Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera Resorts.

Once you have reviewed the Disney Resorts Collection options, start checking availability and pricing for vacation packages. Just click on the vacation package link and click on Get Started. After you book that vacation package, be sure to create a My Disney Experience account if you do not have one already and link that vacation package in My Disney Experience. To link it, log into My Disney Experience, click on My Plans, then click on Add More Plans, and then select Link Reservations and Purchases.

Kevin, after you link your vacation package, you will need to make Disney Park Pass system reservations for each day that you have valid theme park admission. Review the advanced dining reservation window details and start making your advanced dining reservations when you reservation window opens. After you make dining reservations, you should be good to go unless you plan to book any additional experiences through the Enchanting Extras Collection!

    Magic and memories,
