Hi Rob,
Welcome to planDisney! I am super excited to know that you are planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! I still remember the first trip we took with our girls and the magic was real.
Since it looks like you have picked a date, I would say you made a good step forward in the planning process. If you know the number of nights you plan to visit, I first suggest that you start pricing vacation packages on the Walt Disney World website. Once you go to the
vacation package site, just click on Book your Vacation Package today. From there, you should be able to compare prices across different
Disney Resorts Collection hotels.
As you compare vacation package prices, applicable
Special Offers should show up during your search. If not, double-check the current list of Special Offers to see the details of each offer. Know also that Special Offers are released throughout the year. Also familiarize yourself with the
Disney Park Pass reservation system and the
theme park reservation availability calendar. Currently, each Guest must have a park pass reservation to enter a theme park. So, check the park pass availability calendar prior to purchasing your theme park tickets to make sure there is park pass availability. Also check the
operational updates since policies and procedures could change prior to your visit.
When you have booked a vacation package, link that package in your
My Disney Experience account. As it gets closer to the dates of your visit, I strongly suggest making
advanced dining reservations. We have an upcoming trip in July and just made our dining reservations because the
current dining reservation window is 60 days prior to arrival day.
Once you have your park pass and dining reservations, all of those should show up in My Plans in My Disney Experience. You can also go to My Plans to make payments on your vacation package reservation. Just be sure to make that final payment by the due date!
Rob, I am sending a little extra pixie dust trusting that you will get that vacation package booked. Continue to make those plans. And, if you have any young Jedi in your crew, consider making reservations for Savi's Workshop and the Droid Depot.
Savi's Workshop reservations get booked quickly!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
