Ahoy, Cindy!
Thanks for sailing to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! If you're getting out the suitcases and beginning to pack, that means you're about to set sail any day now! Even though I've been on multiple Disney Cruises, I still refer to the
Packing List for Disney Cruises to make sure I'm not forgetting anything!
Currently, children your son's age who are U.S. citizens sailing with their parents on a Disney Cruise that's leaving from and returning to the same U.S. port need to bring a state-issued birth certificate as their proof of citizenship. If you and your family are embarking on a closed-loop voyage from the U.S., your son will be just fine using his state-issued birth certificate as proof of citizenship. When you have a moment, please take a look at the
Passports & Travel Documentation information before leaving for your cruise, just to make sure you have everything you need.
It sounds like your Disney Cruise is right around the corner, so you may not have enough time before this trip, but I highly recommend thinking about getting valid U.S. passports for everyone in your family before the next time you set sail. Although Disney Cruise Line doesn't require them for every itinerary,
there are so many benefits to each person having a passport! If there is an unexpected emergency in a different country, you'll need a passport to fly home. We always cruise with ours and it eases my mind knowing that we have them with us.
Cindy, please give Captain Mickey a huge hug for me as soon as you see him! If you have any other questions before embarkation day, please come back and visit us again!
