When do you start decorating for Halloween? Do you do anything special or different with your parks?

It’s beginning to look a lot like…Halloween! Welcome to planDisney, Alecia! I love sharing details about Halloween time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Fall is one of my favorite times to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth!

You might be surprised to hear that Magic Kingdom Park is usually in the Halloween spirit by mid-August! That’s right! All the ghosts and goblins come out to play at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! This special-ticketed event takes place on select nights at the Magic Kingdom! While we are about three or four months away from any announcements about the 2023 festivities, this Halloween-themed party typically begins at 7:00 PM and lasts through midnight. Guests holding tickets for the event are traditionally allowed to enter the park as early as 4:00 PM even though the festivities don’t get underway until the evening! That is a great perk!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has included trick-or-treating throughout the park, special Halloween food and drinks, complimentary cider, Halloween-themed fireworks accompanied by a special projection show on Cinderella Castle, a stage show starring the Sanderson Sisters, special Halloween additions to favorite attractions, and my favorite, Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade which typically takes place two times during the party! The parade is “headed up” by none other than the Headless Horseman making his terrifying ride through the park! Of course, Mickey and so many of his pals are dressed in their Halloween best during the party! And, if Mickey and the gang are dressed in costumes, then they want kids of all ages (yes, this includes adults) to feel free to dress in costumes for the evening as well! This event is not to be missed!

Alecia, another fun fall event to enjoy at the Walt Disney World Resort is the annual EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! Again, there are no details yet regarding 2023, but this event is usually held from mid-summer through November. A great benefit of this festival is that it is included with your regular park admission to EPCOT! Enjoy live music, while you tempt your taste buds with amazing food and drink selections from around the globe!

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for fall! Alecia, please let us know if we can answer any more questions that you might have about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during a great time of year!

    Happy planning!
