Star Wars Galaxy Edge is all new since my last visit 1. how is smugglers run for motion sickness (normally I avoid stimulators) 2. not (yet) huge Star Wars fans, is there a specific movie or 2 we could watch to better understand the area?

Hi Lisa! That is such a great planning question! We love watching movies in preparation for our visits to the Walt Disney World Resort! And few movies are more popular in our home than Star Wars!

Let’s begin with your question regarding Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. If flight simulators leave you not feeling so great, then this ride might be better left to those who are “strong with the Force.” This ride puts you directly into the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon as you, and your team, take off for (a smuggling) adventure!

Lisa, you should be fine to experience the other amazing attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is more like an 18-minute long mini-Star Wars movie starring you as you join the Resistance against the First Order!

The best movies to prepare you for the time period in which Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set are the final three Star Wars movies that were made. They are: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker! These are the characters that you are most likely to see in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Of course, having said that, watching all of the Star Wars movies gives you a much better idea of the entire saga! Consider a movie marathon weekend!
