Star Wars attractions - appropriate for ages 4-6?

Hi, Melissa!  Or as they say on the planet Batuu, "Bright suns!"  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question.

The Force is strong with my family!  We are all huge Star Wars fans, and my young padawans cannot wait for their first visit to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge next month!  Although my kids are middle schoolers now, they have always been pretty adventurous when it comes to theme park attractions.  I think that the appropriate age for any attraction really depends on the individual child.  You're going to be the best person to determine if the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attractions are right for your little ones, but I would be happy to give you more information about these attractions to help you make that decision.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a completely immersive experience that lasts approximately 15-20 minutes.  This attraction puts you right in the middle of an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance, and it feels incredibly realistic.  Guests must be at least 40 inches tall to experience this attraction which consists of walk-throughs, simulators, a trackless ride vehicle, and a small drop.  Please keep in mind that in order to access this new attraction, all guests wishing to ride must be inside Disney's Hollywood Studios when the park opens to join a boarding group.

At Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, guests can take over the controls of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.  Guests must be at least 38 inches tall to experience this motion simulator-style attraction.  You can see what happened when some of my fellow panelists recently flew the Falcon on a mission.

If someone is unsure if a certain attraction is right for their child, I always recommend that they read about the attraction on the Walt Disney World website.  You can also look for ride videos on Google or YouTube to become more familiar with what the attraction entails.  If one or more of the children in your family is not tall enough for an attraction or simply does not wish to ride, you can speak to a Cast Member at the attraction entrance about using the Rider Switch Service to allow other members of your party to ride.  Whether or not your kids experience the attractions at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, I think your whole family will love exploring Black Spire Outpost!

May the Force be with you!
