Hi Erin!
Welcome to planDisney! Your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is coming up and I bet you're getting excited and counting down the days - I would be! And it looks like you'll be visiting during
Disneyland's 70th Celebration! I'm so excited for all the wonder and fun you're about to experience!
I'm so glad you stopped by with your question. I can understand your desire to know whether or not Star Tours and Radiator Springs Racers will reopen before your upcoming visit, Erin! I always want to know which attractions might be unavailable to experience during my visits to Disneyland. This helps alleviate any disappointments, especially for my young kids but, let's be honest, me too. Your question is a good one, Erin!
According to the
Daily Events Schedule for Disneyland Resort, it does look like both
Star Tours and
Radiator Springs Racers are scheduled to be closed for refurbishment during your visit - I'm so sorry, Erin! Dates are released for attraction closures six weeks out but it's important to know that they can change at any time. I encourage you to check back to the Daily Events Schedule on the Disneyland website for any updates. Not only will it provide updated closure information, but much more including park hours, entertainment offerings, and any events that may be occurring during your visit. Make sure you've selected your specific dates and park at the top.
What I love about the Happiest Place on Earth is that even when my favorite attractions might be closed for refurbishment, the moment I'm immersed in the magic, I barely notice what I'm missing because there's still so much else to experience! For my family this means maybe trying a ride or experience we've never done before or focusing more on entertainment offerings - of which there's no shortage during the 70th Celebration! Disney went all out for this party of the decade.
On my most recent visit, my son and I decided to experience the brand-new
Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga in Galaxy's Edge. For a Star Wars fan, like my son, this was an incredible projection show that told the remarkable story of the Skywalkers which wowed us both. We were told by a friendly Cast Member that the best viewing spot was up against the back wall facing the
Millennium Falcon, nearest the stairs. She said the goal would be to see across all the spires. She was right. The view was perfect! Check the
Disneyland app for showtimes on the day of your visit.
Erin, I hope this information has been helpful, even though it may not be the news you were hoping for. As you continue to prepare for your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, please don't hesitate to come back and
ask me another question. I'd love to share more of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical time in Disneyland, like maybe my not-to-be-missed
Disneyland 70th Celebration treats!
Above all, from the bottom of my heart, I wish you the most magical visit, Erin!
McCayla
