    Many of the standard rooms at The Contemporary seem to be blocked out no matter which time of year I seek reservations. Why is this and what is the best way to obtain a standard garden view room there?

    Hi Rebecca!  I can see why you are drawn to the Contemporary - it's one of our family favorites!  The garden view rooms tend to book up quickly as the price is lower than those located in the Tower.  This resort also is used for conventions so you may be running into a bit of that as well.  However, I did plug in some random dates and I was able to find some availability.  For example, there is garden room availability for next May.  I'm not sure of your preferred dates but I would suggest you keep checking the site to see if any rooms open up.  Persistence may pay off!  As an alternative, you may also want to book a back-up room to have just in case one does not open up for your dates.  Sending tons of pixie dust your way in hopes of you finding your perfect room!
