Hi Theresa, thank you for bringing your question to planDisney!
You must be super excited that your vacation to
Walt Disney World will be here in one more week! I have vacationed at Walt Disney World a few times in mid to late August and I find the crowds are lower due to students heading back to school. Yes, it will be quite warm but you can easily navigate that if you are staying at a participating hotel by taking advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort Hotel Guests to get a jump on your day before the temperatures rise.
Also, in case you are not aware, the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is underway. This is a great opportunity to sample some delicious snacks, meals, and beverages as you make your way around the world.
Theresa, I'm happy to let you know that you are welcome to join your family in the attraction queues. If you decide you will not be riding an attraction, simply let a cast member know you would like to exit just prior to loading on the ride. You will be shown the path out which will bring you to the area where guests exit after they enjoy the ride. I have traveled with a friend who did this often and it was never a problem.
Please let us know if you have any last-minute questions. In the meantime, happy packing, and have a magical vacation!
Diane
