    Is SSR or OKW closest to Hilton Lake Buena Vista Resort? My daughter has problems walking long distances, can we request a downstairs villa and one closest to the pool and restuarants? What resort is better, OKW or SSR?

    Hi Allison,

    Many guests find the decision between Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa to be a difficult one.  I believe that you are trying to determine which of the resorts is closest to the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, a Downtown Disney hotel.  I believe that Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa will be a little closer; however, Disney's Old Key West Resort also quite close to Downtown Disney.  You can take a boat from either of these resorts to Downtown Disney.

    You can request a villa on the lower floor of these resorts, and you can also request a villa which is centrally located, such as near to a pool and restaurant.  Both of these resorts have more than one pool, so at either resort to be close to both the restaurant and a pool, you would want to be closest to the main pool.  If it is helpful for you, when you make the reservation, you can ask the cast member to check if there are any rooms for guests with disabilities available.  These should be located on the first floor or be accessible by elevator.  If you ask this at the time of booking, you can book into a villa for guests with disabilities.  If you decide to do this later, there is no guarantee that a villa for guests with disabilities will be available.  Also, with other requests such as first floor or near the pool, please note that these are requests and are not guaranteed by Disney.

    Finally, as to which resort I prefer among the two - I prefer Disney's Old Key West Resort.  I really love the ambiance there; the vibe is so laid-back and relaxing.  I enjoy the restaurant Olivia's for a really good meal.  Also, the villas at Disney's Old Key West Resort tend to be a little larger, and I love the extra space!
