When do the “spring break” weeks, begin and end at WDW? Thank you, Tony

    Hi Tony!

Thank you for bringing another great question from my home state of North Carolina to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

The answer to this one is a little complicated. Typically, I think of Spring Break season at Walt Disney World Resort as happening in March and April because schools have different Spring Break times. Many colleges and universities and some elementary, middle, and high schools, for example, have Spring break in March while others take Spring Break the week before or after Easter.

When the Disney Parks Blog posted Take Your Disney Spring Break Trip to the Next Level with the DCappella Beach Bash at Typhoon Lagoon, performances were scheduled to be held April 9-12. This year, Easter fell on Sunday, April 12. Next year, it looks like Easter falls on April 4. The week prior would be March 29-April 4 and the week after would be April 5-11. No matter when I travel, I also double-check the runDisney event schedule. Race days can be extremely busy.

A few years ago, we were trying to pick dates in August for a trip to Walt Disney World just before our girls had to return to school. I checked the Florida school district calendars and the calendars for larger school districts in the New York and New Jersey areas. We decided to go when those schools were in session, but our girls were still on break. The crowds were manageable, and we had a wonderful time.

As you consider a visit during springtime, remember the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Even though my dancing might need some work, I love the Garden Rocks™ Concert Series. When we took our girls for their very first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, they adored the topiary displays at the festival. Their awe was just adorable!

Tony, with a little research on school break schedules for some of the larger school districts, I trust that you can select a time to visit with manageable crowds. Remember to download the Disney Parks Mobile App, make FastPass+ selections and advanced dining reservations to make the most of your time!

    Magic and memories,
