But while I always jump at the chance to sing its praises, I also understand the importance of choosing the right resort for your family. I want you feeling comfortable and confident on your next visit, so let's go ahead and jump right in!
It sounds like we have something important in common, Tara: when it comes to a Walt Disney World vacation, convenience is the key to a magical trip! Location always plays a big part in my Disney World resort choices, so I can see why you love Disney's Contemporary Resort. Easy monorail access plus that quick walk to Magic Kingdom? The convenience is practically unbeatable!
Still, Disney World offers so many incredible resorts, and there's nothing I enjoy more than a bit of novelty. As they say, variety is the spice of life! There are so many things I love about the Grand Floridian, Tara, and if you're looking to shake things up this time around, I have a hunch you might too. The stunning lobby, elevated dining experiences, and theme park view rooms make for a magical experience straight out of a fairytale!
However, while the Grand Floridian is fairly compact, you should know that it is slightly more spread out than the Contemporary. In addition, the walk to Magic Kingdom is a bit longer than what you're used to. In my experience, the walk from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom typically takes about 10 minutes, while the walk from the Grand Floridian clocks in at around 15-20 minutes.
If this feels like a stretch for you but you're still interested in trying something new, I do have another suggestion for you:
Disney's Yacht Club Resort. This sophisticated resort feels upscale like the Grand Floridian, but with a nautical twist. Best of all? It's located within walking distance of not one, but TWO theme parks: EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios! It'll take you less than 10 minutes to walk over to EPCOT, or about 20 minutes to reach Hollywood Studios on foot.
