Hi. Will be at sports in august with my son 15yo. First trip for him since 2. Is that a good choice for him. What restaurants can u recommend for us both buffet and sitdowns. Hes a good eater. I chose the deluxe plan. What else would be of interest to him?

Hi, Sherri! Well, I guess whether a 15-year-old boy is from New York or Alabama some things are universal -- they are eaters! My son is also 15, and he likes the buffets at Boma (AKL), Tusker House (AK), Crystal Palace (MK), Chef Mickey's (Contemporary), Biergarten (Epcot), Hollywood & Vine (DHS) and Cape May Cafe (Beach Club). For table service casual meals, he enjoys the Whispering Canyon Cafe (WL), House of Blues (DTD), ESPN Club (Boardwalk) and 'Ohana (Polynesian).

We've stayed at the All Star Sports resort a couple of times, and he particularly likes its over-sized decor, casual atmosphere and lots of activity. The All Star Sports is one of the resorts where the teams from ESPN Wide World of Sports complex stay. So, there will be lots of young people coming and going! (For your sanity, do not request a room facing the main swimming pool!) If you'd like to take a step up in amenities and services, the Caribbean Beach Resort is a moderate resort with a similar feel for your teen while giving you a bit more comfort and convenience.

In addition to the theme parks, my teen son always requests time at DisneyQuest or one of the water parks and to play the midway games at the Boardwalk. He also likes golf and will usually play a round at Oak Trail or at least will challenge us to a game of mini-golf. Maybe this will give you some ideas of how to have fun with your son now that he's grown up since the last time he was in WDW. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
