how does a split stay work? are our bags brought over to our second resort? will we be provided transportation to the next resort? we'll be staying at boardwalk villas 6 days and art of animation 2 days (37 days left!!). thx

    Hi Mayra,

My family and I have recently become big fans of a split stay.  Spending part of your vacation at one Walt Disney World resort hotel and then switching to another allows you to experience the fun in a new way partway through your vacation!  I also love both of the resorts that you have chosen.  The location of Disney's BoardWalk Villas is wonderful, in walking distance or a short boat ride of both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Disney's Art of Animation Resort is so much fun as it immerses you in some classic Disney and Pixar films.

On the day of your resort change, simply ask Bell Services at your first resort to help you transfer your luggage.  You can either take your luggage down to Bell Services, or call them and ask that they come get it from your room.  Let Bell Services know which resort you need your luggage transferred to.  Then, head out and enjoy your day at Walt Disney World!  Although there will not be direct transportation for you between resorts, I suggest that you send off your luggage from your first resort in the morning, and then head out to a theme park, water park, or Downtown Disney.  When you are done enjoying your fun out and about for the day, simply catch Disney transportation to your second resort.  When you arrive at your second resort, stop at Bell Services to claim your luggage.  Please do be aware that this transfer of luggage can take a few hours, so be sure to take whatever items you need for the day with you when you leave your first resort.

Have a great time planning your vacation Mayra - the countdown is really on now!  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
