We want to split stay between 2 Disney hotels. And if the free meal plans will be out, you have to buy tickets to get a meal plan on your package. How do we buy 6 day tickets (3 at one hotel, 3 at the other) but for the cheaper price of 6 day tickets?

Hi Jessica.  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  The free Disney Dining offers that have come out in the past have usually required a minimum 2 day base ticket purchase along with a minimum 3 night stay in a Walt Disney World resort.  If you are planning on staying at one resort for 3 nights and another resort for 3 nights, you could either buy a 3 day base ticket for each resort stay, or a 4 day base ticket at one resort, and 2 night base ticket at the other resort.  You would not be able to purchase a 6 day ticket and have that qualify you for the free dining at the second resort as the free dining is only available with package purchase of room, tickets and dining.  Since you will be switching resorts, that counts as two separate packages.  Obviously this is not the most advantageous use of free dining.  If at all possible, the best scenario for you is to stay at only 1 Walt Disney World resort and purchase the 6 day base ticket - this will save you approximately $200 per adult over doing a split stay and having to divide your tickets.

I hope this helps to clarify how the free dining has worked in the past.  Of course, when and if Disney decides to release any free dining offers for 2013, the requirements to obtain it may have changed, so you'll want to double-check before booking anything.  Please ask me any more questions you may have - I would be happy to help you.  Have a magical day!
