Hey Melissa,
Thanks for coming back to planDisney with this great question. Having just used a
dining plan during my last Walt Disney World vacation, I can confirm that they are a great way to make your trip feel like an all-inclusive vacation. Prepaid meals gave me so much peace of mind during my last family visit because my teenager was able to just use his
MagicBand+ to tap and “pay” for his snacks and meals using our credits. Have you seen how much teenage boys eat? Not having to pull my wallet out for every snack was fantastic!
While a split stay will make things a little more interesting, it will still be easy to use your dining plan during your next visit. The plan you’re using is what determines how your meal and snack credits will be distributed. If you’re using the
Quick-Service Dining Plan, you’ll get 2 quick-service meals and 1 snack per person per night of your stay. If you’re using the
Disney Dining plan, you’ll get 1 quick-service meal, 1 table-service meal and 1 snack per person per night of your stay. You will also receive 1 resort-refillable drink mug per person for both reservations. Once you check in at your first Disney resort, all of your dining credits for the duration of that stay will be added to your
My Disney Experience account. You won’t have access to the credits for the second reservation until you check into that property. You can track your dining credits at any time in the My Disney Experience app – simply tap the hamburger menu icon in the lower right (☰), scroll down and tap Hotel Reservations, then Check Dining Plan.
When you check into your second Disney resort, your new credits will appear alongside any credits you might have left from the previous stay. Credits from your previous stay will expire at midnight on your first checkout day, so on that day you might have an inflated amount of credits to use. Be sure to keep track of them.
Did you know that
kids 9 and under eat free on either dining plan this year? We enjoyed this fantastic deal this spring and you’ll still be able to take advantage of it at least for the beginning portion of your December visit depending on your length of stay.
I hope this information was helpful, Melissa. If you have additional planning questions, please be sure to visit us at planDisney again. We’ll see ya real soon!
