Hi Kelley, and welcome to planDisney! We’re so glad you’re here, and I’m happy to help with this question. Some people plan their Disney days around the attractions, but I’m all about the dining! I’m a big fan of the Disney Dining Plan, so let’s talk about how you can make the most of those credits.
Sharing meals is possible, but it depends on the dining location. This is very easy with quick service locations. You’ll simply order the meals you want to share, and you’ll only be charged one dining credit per meal ordered. At table service restaurants, it’s a little trickier. For buffets and family-style meals, you will be required to use one table service credit per person. At other table service restaurants, it will depend on the specific location and its policies. Generally, you should be able to share meals at many locations where you are simply ordering an entree and dessert. Your server will be able to confirm the policy when you order. It’s also important to note that some dining locations, including Fine and Signature dining, require two table service credits per person.
Another easy way to share food on the dining plan is with snack credits. This might be my favorite part! You’ll receive one snack credit per person, per day, so it’s a great way to try a lot of snacks and share them! Some of my favorites are the
DOLE Whip® from Aloha Isle in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom,
Poutine from The Refreshment Port near the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT, and
School Bread from Kringla Bakeri in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT, just to name a few! The Cheeseburger Spring Rolls from the Spring Roll Cart at Magic Kingdom are also top-tier snacks and very shareable, but these are not included with the dining plan. They are well worth paying out of pocket for though and a must-try in my book!
Kelley, I hope this helps you plan your dining like a pro and that you enjoy every bite along the way! If you have any more questions,
stop back by and see me. I’m always happy to help add extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation planning!
Magically,
Casey
