Hi Ariel!
Thank you for bringing this
Disneyland Park attraction planning question to us hEAR at planDisney!
Just like Princess Tiana, I had to 'dig a little deeper' with your question.
Splash Mountain is due to close for a refurbishment in mid-January. However, Mickey loves a good surprise and has not given an official answer yet as to if this scheduled closure is keeping in tradition with how this attraction usually takes a few weeks in the wintertime to update minor issues, or if this is the start that is 'gonna take you there' with the complete re-theme. The best way to tell when we're 'almost there' is to keep up with the
Disney Parks Blog; I actually follow them on all of my social media platforms so I'm sure to never miss a story!
While we're waiting to find out what's going on, I have plenty of suggestions to help you feel like you're 'down in New Orleans'. Both the
Blue Bayou Restaurant and
Cafe Orleans serve up some classic Crescent City cooking, like gumbo and shrimp and grits.
French Market Restaurant serves up N'awlins noshes in a quick-service setting adjacent to a beautiful covered courtyard. My seasonal favorite, the seafood boil, is currently back at
Harbour Galley, which just opened an expanded and beautiful new seating area called Pelican Landing that has a great view of the New Orleans French colonial-style
Haunted Mansion. But my current favorite way to sit back and relax a spell is by placing a
mobile food order for some Mickey-shaped beignets from the
Mint Julep Bar and enjoying them on a cruise aboard the
Mark Twain Riverboat.
I hope that these tips and tricks were helpful in planning your upcoming Disney Days, Ariel. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
