    Spent the last weeks reading everingthing in this forum - So my wife and I have recently (May 2012) celebrated our 28th year anniversary, my 50th BD is in Sept, and it's tour first time to WDW. We are staying at the AKL 7-14 to 7-20...expectations?

    Wow, so many wonderful celebrations!  I am so glad you will be adding a trip to Walt Disney World to all your special occasions.

    Animal Kingdom Lodge is amazing!  The lobby, the views, the pool, the restaurants.... everything will exceed your expectations.   If you booked a Savannah View room, you will enjoy the wildlife as it roams just yards from your balcony.  If you do not have a room with a view of the Savannah, you can still see these majestic animals in their habitat from some deck areas just off the lobby.

    Make sure to book some dining experiences at your resort.  My favorite is Jiko.  The food is amazing and your server can help you to select the perfect wine to go with your meal.  You might also enjoy Boma with its amazing African selections.

    From this beautiful resort, you can hop on a bus to any of the theme parks, water parks, or Downtown Disney.  You may want to plan a night for some shopping and dinner at Downtown Disney, or even get tickets to see La Nouba! 

    Plan to spend some evenings in the park to enjoy the nighttime entertainment including Wishes fireworks in Magic Kingdom and Illuminations in Epcot.  Schedule in some down-time as well for lounging by your pool in the afternoons.
