Hi Kristen,
My family spent Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World last year, and we're making plans to return for the holiday again this year. I'm already thinking about our dinner, too.
Last year, we opted for Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The buffet was the best of both worlds: We could choose traditional turkey and dressing and also sample the delicious African-influenced fare that we love. If I recall correctly, the price was about $45 each for the full meal, including a non-alcoholic drink.
Almost all the restaurants will have Thanksgiving food available. You might also want to consider the buffets at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club resort; Trail's End at Fort Wilderness; or the character buffet at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary.
Last year, Raglan Road had a yummy-sounding Thanksgiving Day special for $28. You can see that and other specials described at the
Disney Parks Blog. The specials likely will be different this year, but this will give you an idea of what you might expect.
Some of the other resort and Downtown Disney restaurants my family enjoys that are moderately priced and might be a good fit for a Thanksgiving dinner:
- The Wave at the Contemporary
- Olivia's Cafe at Old Key West
- Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian
- Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe at Downtown Disney
- Kona Cafe at the Polynesian
I highly recommend that you make your dining reservations as soon as possible. Some of the most popular restaurants book far in advance. I made ours at the 180-day mark. Though I made a few changes as our trip neared, it was good to know that we had a table secured.
I'm out of space, but please write back if I can offer details about specific restaurants. Enjoy!
Wilma
