Spending the Thanksgiving holiday week with friends and family in Walt Disney World this year! Will Disney Springs and a waterpark be open on Thanksgiving Day?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Holly! The Thanksgiving season is an incredibly popular time to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The cooler temperatures and festive decorations really do a lot for the magical morale, but I think you’ll find your waterpark plans are perfectly suited!

During your fall visit, you may find that Disney has closed one of the waterparks for routine freshening and maintenance. Typically, the other waterpark will remain open for your use, and the water is heated year-round to a nice and comfortable temperature. If you have kids with you, they will adore the slides and wave pools while everyone can pile into the lazy rivers together. Depending on which park you visit, the theming will wow you! From the soft sands of Typhoon Lagoon to the snow capped dunes of Blizzard Beach, it’s a ton of fun!

If I can suggest a meal or off the beaten path activity for your family during your magical vacation, please let me know. It’s sure to be a fantastic, swimmingly fun holiday! ~ Lindsey P.
