Hi Sabrina,
Welcome to planDisney!
Happiest of birthdays to your son!
Well, Magic Kingdom is special. No matter what you do, you are winning with that birthday choice. First, I suggest that you spend at least one night in a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. If it's within your budget, try
Disney's Contemporary Resort. This one is within walking distance to Magic Kingdom. Or, try
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Disney's All-Star Sports, Disney's All-Star Movies, and Disney's All-Star Music are also fabulous options that might better suit your family. Keep your eye on the
Special Offers to see if there are any discounts that work for the dates of your visit.
Make sure you have park admission. If you need theme park tickets, be sure to review the
options. Double-check to see if you need
theme park reservations based on your admission type. As it gets closer to the dates of your visit, check the
park hours. Know that, currently, if you stay at a deluxe or deluxe villa resort hotel, you can access
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours.
So, now, let's talk about how you can make this birthday extra special! When you check-in to a resort or get to a theme park, be sure to ask for a celebratory button for your son. If he wears it, cast members will notice that it is his birthday and he will get the royal treatment! Make an
advanced dining reservation for a character meal. A few of our favorites include Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera (characters are currently only present at breakfast) Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Tusker House Restaurant.
Take a look at some of the special surprises you can order from
In-Room Floral & Gifts. And consider ordering a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake. We have ordered balloons from In-Room Floral & Gifts and we have ordered a cake delivered to one of our dining reservations. If your son might love an experience, take a look at the
Enchanting Extras Collection. In case you had not heard, we have a
new baby elephant at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Caring for Giants tour is one of my family's favorites because we get to learn more about these amazing animals from the experts who care for them.
Sabrina, to end the day, I suggest watching the Happily Ever After fireworks show. If you chose to do so, be sure to find a viewing spot an hour prior to the show. The closer you are and the less obstructed your view is, the better your son will be able to see the projections on the front of the castle. Finally, consider
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It might just be the spook-tacular birthday event you seek!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
