We are spending New Year's at WDW this year and will be having a late dinner at Ohana on New Year's Eve. Where is the best place to watch the fireworks from at the Polynesian Resort?

    Hi Joan!

    This is a great question.

I think the best place to watch the fireworks is from the beach at the Polynesian Resort.  Just walk downstairs from Ohana and then walk outside towards the Magic Kingdom, go past the pool area, and then walk down to the beach.  It's a very popular thing to do.  Just check before New Year's Eve whether Disney is allowing only Polynesian Resort guests to go to the beach; that was something new that Disney did earlier this year, but it might have been a one time test.  I haven't heard of any such restrictions for the holidays.

You can also watch the fireworks from Ohana if you have a window seat; you can always request one when you check-in but just keep in mind that there's no guarantee.  Also you might have to wait for an extremely long time for such a table since a lot of guests may be trying to do the same thing!

Enjoy planning your magical Disney vacation, and please write back with more questions!
