Hi, there!
Welcome back to planDisney, Tammy. We just love when you stop by with your planning questions! It looks like your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just days away now. How very exciting!
I'm sure you're packing your bags and finalizing the last-minute details of your vacation plans. It was wise to check for updates on the
Know Before You Go page of the Walt Disney World Resort website as you prepare for your arrival! The
most recent update regarding face coverings states that they are now optional in most areas for Guests who are fully vaccinated. Guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to wear face coverings in all indoor locations and upon entering and throughout all attractions. This is to say that any children in your party who are not fully vaccinated should be wearing face coverings in those instances. My three children are all under the age of 12 and not eligible for vaccination yet, so we made sure that they were wearing acceptable face coverings when indoors during our stay last month. While my husband and I
are fully vaccinated, we also wore face coverings when indoors to show our support for our kiddos. We found that keeping the face coverings in our pockets or around our wrists made them easily accessible to put on after coming in from outdoors. When I packed my park bag each morning, I packed a few extra face coverings for everyone in my family so that we had some spares on hand if we needed them!
It's important to note that all Guests, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear face coverings when using Disney transportation including
Disney buses,
monorail, and
Disney Skyliner. You'll need to have your face covering on at the time that you board any of these transportation options, so be sure to have it ready to go as you wait!
I hope this was helpful, Tammy. I'm wishing you and your family a Disney vacation that is practically perfect in every way!
