Spending 10 days in WDW for my daughters 6th bday.We will be traveling with two adults a 6year old and a two year old. We want to make it very special and cant figure out how much spending money to bring with us for souvenirs, tips etc. any suggestions?

    Hello Tabbitha!

WOW!  Spending ten days at Walt Disney World sounds like the most MAGICAL vacation EVER!  Let me tell you that you all are going to have so much fun!

I have five kids, so budgeting for Walt Disney World is something my family does all of the time.  Before we leave on our vacation, we sit down with the kids and figure out how much money they will have to spend on souvenirs during our vacation.  For this year, we decided that each child would receive $50.00 for souvenirs.  Once they spend their $50.00, they have no money to spend.  While it will be so tempting to just let your six year go over just a little bit, just remember a little bit turns into a lot!  I will tell you that next year, my wife and I discussed giving each child a $50.00 Disney Gift Card.  That way each child can see how money they have and see how quickly their money will disappear.

For tipping at the Disney Table Service Restaurants, I would suggest tipping at least the standard 15% at all restaurants.  The Cast Members work really hard to create that Disney MAGIC for every guest.  I KNOW they will do the exact same thing for your family as well!  For some Cast Members, you might want to bless them with an even bigger tip!

For snacks, we typically budget about $3.00 for snacks each day for each family member.  We try to save money on snacks by bringing our own water and snacks into the park.

The bottom line is to choose the budget that works best for your family and then stick with your budget plan!  If you have other questions, please let me know!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
