Hi Jessie!
Welcome back to planDisney!
runDisney weekends hold such a special place in my heart. The energy along the course is unmatched - thanks in large part to the dedicated Cast Members, volunteers, and spectators who are there to help ensure that every mile truly is magic!
Jessie, before each race weekend, runners and spectators should take some time to view the Digital Expo and Event Guide, which includes course maps, transportation details, spectator information, and more. The
event guide for the upcoming runDisney Springtime Surprise weekend was recently released, and the course maps show that both the
10K and
10-miler are scheduled to run along
Disney's BoardWalk. This is always a favorite stretch of mine to run because so many Guests staying at hotels in this area come out to cheer! The course maps will show you the route for each race, helping you pick a spectator location that is practically perfect in every way. In my experience, spectators are often spread throughout this area along the course. As long as you're following all directions from race staff, staying behind the course cones, and not interfering with the runners, you should be able to choose a spot along Disney's BoardWalk that is convenient for you. I chatted with a runDisney Cast Member who confirmed this and suggested checking the spectator information in the event guide closer to the race for any updates.
runDisney also has dedicated spectator viewing at both the start and finish lines for races in the
EPCOT parking lot. If you're interested in viewing from this location, you can find information in the event guide about race transportation that is available from Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Last year, I had several of my planDisney classmates waiting at the finish line of the Springtime Surprise 10-miler, and I can honestly say there is nothing better than celebrating with friends and family at the end of your race!
I hope this information is helpful, Jessie, and that you enjoy cheering on runners during your stay. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
