Is there a specific map of fort wilderness that shows each cabin & campsite. We are going next week, and none of the maps I have seen even show which loops the cabins are located in. Also... should we already know what loop we are in from the reservati

Hi Catherine!  Fort Wilderness is our resort home for most of our visits since we own a motor coach and love to bring our dogs to vacation with us.

You can find general maps on line through google and occasionally I have found some that are more descriptive or show a video of loops. There are 8 cabin loops and they number from 2100-2800. Loop 2800 has some handicap cabins available and is the closest loop to the front of the resort and bus depot. There are two bus stops among the cabins for the internal buses and they are closest to loop 2800 and 2200/2300/2100.  The smaller Fort Wilderness pool is located closest to Loop 2500 and 2600. The smallest loops meaning the smallest number of cabins in the loop are 2100, 2300, and 2500. The largest loops are 2600, 2800, and 1700.

You will not know your cabin assignment  until you check in but you can add a request to your reservation if you feel there is a location that is important for you. I have stayed in most of the loops and have great cabins during each stay so I really don't have a huge preference.

I hope you enjoy Fort Wilderness as much as my own family does. We love the quiet and peaceful atmosphere in this location.
