Hi there, Melissa. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I've been visiting Walt Disney World pretty frequently since the reopening last summer and I'm very familiar with making park pass reservations and the availability calendar.
Melissa, I think you will be happy to know that you can check to see if there is theme park availability for the dates you'd like to visit. All you need to do is visit the
Walt Disney World theme park availability calendar, linked for you, and search for your travel dates on the calendar. I do want to mention that the calendar is broken down into three categories - Guests with theme park tickets only, Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Annual Passholders. You'll want to be sure to select the category that most represents your vacation since each category has different availability. If the date you'd like to visit Magic Kingdom Park is available for
park pass reservations, I'd suggest going ahead and purchasing your vacation package or theme park tickets as soon as possible. Theme park availability can fill up pretty quickly. Once you've purchased your vacation and linked it to your MyDisneyExperience account, you can head over to the park pass reservation and secure your spot at Magic Kingdom Park.
I know that you have a set plan in mind, but if the day you'd like to visit Magic Kingdom Park is not available you could always upgrade your tickets to include the
park hopper option and visit Magic Kingdom Park later in the day. The 3 other Walt Disney World Theme Parks are really great too and you could enjoy a nice morning at one of them and then hop over to Magic Kingdom Park in the afternoon for the rest of the day. If you do decide to upgrade to the park hopper tickets, I wanted to let you know that park hopping does look a little bit different since its return at the start of this year. Right now to park hop you must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option. Then, you'll need to make a park pass reservation for an initial theme park to visit. On that day, you must scan in and visit the park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other theme parks later in the day. This sort of "activates" your hopper feature. Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. each day and last until each park closes in the evening. Park hopping is actually my favorite way to spend a day at Walt Disney World and I think it is a great option for you too!
Melissa, I have my fingers crossed there is availability on the date you'd like to visit Magic Kingdom Park. If you have any other questions, please come back and
ask me. I'm happy to help! Have fun!
