Hi Amanda,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I am a big fan of the Disney Dining Plan, and one of my favorite new features is the addition of specialty beverages. On our recent vacation, my family had tons of fun ordering delicious cocktails, smoothies, and frozen drinks all around Walt Disney World, and we have some really cute and fun pictures to prove it!
While the specialty beverages themselves are included in the Disney Dining Plan, souvenir cups and glow cubes are not included in your entitlement. If you look at the fine print on the
Disney Dining Plan web site, you’ll see those exclusions listed under “items considered to be merchandise.” You should be able to get the punch, but it will be served in a regular kids' cup rather than the souvenir cup.
Amanda, I LOVE a souvenir cup, and like my dear friend and fellow Moms Panelist Kristen N., I collect glow cubes. They make me happy and help with the Disney Blues when I’m not in my happy place. The great news is that you are usually able to pay out-of-pocket for these items; just talk to your server, who can explain how it all works. I had my heart set on a
Lapu Lapu cocktail, which comes served in a pineapple, but my server explained that the pineapple was not included on the Disney Dining Plan, so it would come served in a cocktail glass. I let him know that I
needed that magical pineapple, and I paid a few dollars out of pocket – which was totally worth it for me!
Have such fun on your upcoming vacation, and please come see us if you have any further questions as you plan, prepare, and dream!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
