Welcome to planDisney, Kristi!
I may be a boy mom, but I know a thing or two about celebrating my little ones’ major milestones. In fact, for my older son’s 5th birthday, we took him to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park so that he could watch the wildlife and then eat with Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse at
Tusker House Restaurant. You’re already off to a fantastic start, Kristi! Magic Kingdom Park is an iconic spot for your little one to feel like a princess for a day. I recommend that you experience character meet-and-greets with some of her Disney favorites and get their autographs on an item that’s specifically for your daughter’s birthday. Also, consider getting your photos taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer in front of Cinderella Castle, either as a part of a purchased Memory Maker or through a booked
Capture Your Moment session. A princess makeover at
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is also a fun way to celebrate her birthday. Although it may be booked up for your dates already, walk-ins are a possibility. Just arrive as early as you can on your Magic Kingdom Park day.
At
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, she will enjoy riding attractions like Kilimanjaro Safaris (the animals are the most active earlier in the day), petting animals at the Affection Section, and searching for all of the carved animals in the Tree of Life. If she is an animal lover, you won’t regret making this park one of your three choices.
Choosing between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is difficult. However, if my kiddos were to make the choice, they’d go for
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s the home of Toy Story Land, Disney Junior Play and Dance!, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. It really depends on what your birthday girl prefers. I recommend going down the list of attractions at each theme park with her and go with the theme park that has more check marks.
AN EXTRA GEM: Don’t forget to pick up a birthday button, which you can get from a ticket window, stroller or wheelchair rental stations, or other areas near the front of each theme park. It isn’t a guarantee that your 5-year-old will get special treatment around the theme parks while wearing it, but she’ll love proudly wearing it and she’ll at least hear a “Happy Birthday” or two.
Kristi, I hope that this helps you plan your baby girl’s big day! Feel free to
reach out to us here at planDisney if you have any other questions about your upcoming adventure. See you real soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
