Hi Ellis,
It has been my experience that Disney is very firm with their age restrictions for programs. The age limits have been set with safety and developmental appropriateness in mind so I would be surprised if Disney allowed your youngest child to take part in the
Wanyama Safari Resort Tour. When I called the Itinerary Planning office at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge this afternoon, they confirmed my assumption that they will not take a seven-year-old on this tour.
There are other options, though. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has many fascinating, age-appropriate activities for children scheduled throughout the day. You will receive a detailed schedule of events when you check in at the resort. I'm sure your children will find fun activities on that list.
An experience that might more closely simulate the Wanyama tour would be the three-hour
Wild by Nature program offered by the Disney Youth Education Series. Children, ages 7-15, can participate in this program at Disney's Animal Kingdom with their families or as part of school groups. I have taken my students on programs like this in the past and I can't adequately express how wonderful these imaginative, interactive programs are. Your kids might even enjoy Disney's Wild by Nature program more than they would have enjoyed the Wanyama Safari Resort Tour. I hope your kids get the chance to participate in a Disney Youth Education Series program during your upcoming vacation.
Best wishes to you for a truly magical vacation!
Jill
