Ahoy there, Mary Ann, and welcome back to planDisney! It sounds like you’re as excited about the new
Disney Destiny as I am, so I’m glad you stopped by to put your detective hat on with me.
The Maiden Voyage of the Disney Destiny departs from Port Everglades in
Fort Lauderdale on November 20, 2025. While special plans have not been made known yet, I can confirm that the ship will stop at both
Disney Castaway Cay and
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! In fact, every sailing will include a day of fun in the sun at one of Disney’s island destinations, and some itineraries (like the maiden voyage) will even visit both!
My sleuthing skills also uncovered that there will be a
Pirate Night with fireworks (weather-permitting) on that first sailing. There’s nothing quite like dining on a Caribbean-inspired menu and experiencing a swashbuckling
Deck Party while sailing around the islands of the Atlantic Ocean.
For more updates as we get closer to embarkation day, keep your eyes on the
Disney Cruise website. I also get most of my intel from the
Disney Parks Blog. For instance, that’s where I learned that the inaugural season will feature four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean, and select cruises will feature even more adventure in Nassau, Bahamas, and Cozumel, Mexico.
While we may not know exactly what’s in store just yet, every Disney Cruise features a myriad of magical possibilities. And if I know one thing about the Cast Members, they will go out of their way to make sure the Destiny’s first sailing is one that will be remembered forever.
