Hey Christina! There is nothing quite like beginning a new year at the Most Magical Place on Earth! A few years ago, my family spent New Year's Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort! It was a great way to ring in the new year!
While plans (and park hours) for New Year's Eve haven’t been announced yet, I can share that the Disney Parks typically have expanded hours on that special evening! For example, Magic Kingdom Park (in the past) has stayed open until 1:00 AM, while other parks such as EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios have remained open until midnight! Magic Kingdom Park usually has a fireworks show scheduled to begin a few minutes before midnight!
Keep in mind that Guests are allowed to get into a line for an attraction just before park closing time and can remain in line until they experience the attraction, even after the park has officially closed. So even though a park might “close” at midnight, they are still bustling with activity well after official closing time.
Christina, New Year's Eve is typically a very popular night to be in the Disney Parks, especially
Magic Kingdom Park! Here are a few helpful hints! Be sure to make a
Disney Park Pass Reservation as soon as possible for the park you want to visit on New Year’s Eve. A park reservation, and valid theme park admission, are required for park entry. Also, I strongly recommend that you plan on “making a day of it” at your park of choice. Due to the popularity of New Year’s Eve, the parks have occasionally reached capacity and additional Guests are not allowed to enter the park, so get there early and have a fun-filled day! I recommend booking a dining reservation (or two) during the day or night. A table-service dining reservation can be a nice break (and a great meal)! If you are spending all day and night at the park, I also recommend renting a locker that you can keep a few extra items in for a long day.
EPCOT might be an especially fun park to visit this New Year's Eve! The just-announced Luminous: The Symphony of Us Nighttime spectacular is set to launch at EPCOT on December 5, 2023! Also,
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, will open in October! This will be accompanied by Moana hosting her own "meet and greet" with Guests!
Details for New Year's Eve will be announced in the coming months. Be sure to check the
Disney Parks Blog for more information! As I mentioned, my family had a great night on New Year’s Eve a few years ago! My kids still say that was their most memorable New Year’s Eve ever! I hope yours will be just as magical!
Happy Planning!
