Hello Robbin, welcome back to planDisney!
While our family is in a different situation than yours, we also have to be mindful of what our son eats when visiting
Walt Disney World, as he has a severe allergy. I certainly appreciate being proactive with your planning and think that you will find that Cast Members and Chefs will be patient and accommodating with any questions or requests you may have to ensure the health and safety of your son.
Not knowing the specific dietary needs of your child, I can’t be too much help with dissecting menu options and giving you some recommendations, but I can point you in the direction of the Special Dietary team. Guests that have
Special Dietary Requests should contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com, but no sooner than 14 days before your arrival, so the Special Diets team can assist you with your dining planning options throughout your vacation.
Robbin, I do want to mention that
you are free to bring food into Walt Disney World theme parks, the only restriction being that they cannot be in glass containers and that Cast Members cannot assist with storing or reheating items brought to the parks by guests. For our son, we like to pack snacks to keep on hand throughout the day that we know are safe for him to eat. We find this super helpful for the random cravings but also for when we go to a quick-service or table-service restaurant and can’t find something on the menu that he would like (very rare).
I hope this helps point you in the right direction, Robbin. Please feel free to
contact me directly if you have any follow-up questions or want to provide more specific dietary restrictions so I can provide some recommendations.
Cheers,
Brent
