Hiya, Kyle! Welcome to planDisney!
Your magical adventure is coming up so soon—less than two months away! I’m thrilled for you and your family to make special memories together at the Happiest Place on Earth. With so much pixie-dusted fun awaiting, it’s wonderful you’re thinking ahead about how to make your son as comfortable as possible for your visit.
I do want to gently share that wagons are not permitted at the Disneyland Resort, according to the
resort rules. Since all Guests pass through a security checkpoint before entering the Main Entrance Esplanade between the theme parks, Cast Members will likely not allow a wagon to pass through—even if it’s just being used to reach the
stroller rental area.
That said, there are some options that may work for your family. Wheelchairs and Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are welcome, and the Disneyland Resort offers
wheelchair rentals right near the entrance. This is a great solution for navigating the theme parks themselves and may provide your son with extra comfort for longer distances. I do understand, though, that you’re specifically looking for a way to get your son from your hotel to the park entrance, so while rentals are available once you arrive, they don’t completely solve the journey from your hotel.
If you’ll have access to a car during your trip,
parking at one of the resort’s lots could be a helpful option. The Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures both offer tram service that can accommodate wheelchairs. There is also a shuttle service designed for Guests using mobility devices. The shuttle drops Guests off near the Main Entrance Esplanade. Another option is the Toy Story Parking Area, where buses are available that can also accommodate most mobility devices. (Wagons, however, don’t meet this requirement, as they aren’t permitted at the Disneyland Resort.)
Kyle, I’d also recommend exploring Disneyland Resort’s accessibility resources, particularly
services for Guests with mobility disabilities. This page is full of helpful information on renting wheelchairs,
accessing attractions with mobility devices, and even details about
disability parking, which could be useful if you’ll be driving to the resort. These resources may help you plan the most comfortable and convenient way to get your son from your hotel into the magic.
I know this may not have been the news you were hoping for, Kyle, but I truly hope these alternatives help you feel more at ease as you plan. Your family’s comfort and joy are so important, and with a little planning, I know your visit will be filled with laughter, fun, and memories you’ll treasure forever.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful visit to the Disneyland Resort!
Cody
