Hi Amanda!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you so much for stopping by with this great question while you plan for your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. As a fellow Disney vacationing mama of a kiddo with special needs, I completely understand the importance of planning ahead for every vacation. You've chosen the perfect destination for your family because Walt Disney World strives to make an inclusive vacationing experience for everyone throughout the four theme parks and Resort hotels!
I'm not sure what your Mouseketeer's special needs are, but I'm honored to share a little bit about my son's experience at Walt Disney World Resort to help guide you through your decision of whether to hire an in-room sitter or a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Getting a helping hand with transferring and lifting our son is something that we think about often. Although my husband and I are able to lift him now, we know this won't always be the case! We've found that my son's medical challenges often increase while at Walt Disney World because of the change in routine and increase in sensory stimuli. Because of this, we are more comfortable hiring a CNA for assistance. We know he/she would be trained specifically to administer my son's emergency medication and to safely take care of his physical needs.
If you haven't taken a look at the
Guests with Disabilities - Frequently Asked Questions, I highly recommend browsing through them! You might find even more information regarding accommodations throughout the four theme parks, using the Walt Disney World Resort bus transportation and so much more to help make your family's upcoming Disney vacation a magical one!
