Are there special luggage labels we can pre-order to purchase prior to our arrival to Disney ? What are Virtual Queues ? What is rider switch ?

    Hi Jackie,

Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your questions!

Unfortunately, since Disney’s Magical Express is no longer in service, there are no special Walt Disney World luggage tags like there were in the past. Have you thought about creating your own? When my family travels, we like to “personalize” our luggage with things like ribbons and small keychains. This is the perfect way to differentiate your luggage from the other bags at the airport. When you get to the Walt Disney World Resort, make sure to head over to World of Disney at Disney Springs. Apart from your other souvenirs, you might be able to find some specialty luggage tags for your trip back home!

Virtual Queues are virtual lines within My Disney Experience where you can join a boarding group for a specific attraction and as your boarding group gets called, you’re able to ride that attraction. In 2020 and 2021, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure were both using this system. If you want to ride any of the above attractions now, you will just wait in the standby line like the other attractions across the Walt Disney World Resort. For your upcoming holiday, you can however utilize Disney Genie+ service if you’d like to pick your ride times in advance! Keep in mind Disney Genie+ service replaced FastPass+ in 2021. At this time virtual queues are no longer needed, but you can always check Disney Parks Blog for announcements if changes are made in the future.

Rider Switch gives guests who have children or family members that don’t want to ride a chance to ride an attraction while other members of the party wait with the non-riders. Say most of your guests want to ride Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, but you have a few kiddos that don’t. Hakuna Matata, walk to the entry of the attraction and share with the Cast Member that you’d like to do Rider Switch. You’ll be split into 2 Parties. Party 1 will wait in line and ride the attraction while Party 2 waits with the guests not riding. After Party 1 enjoys the attraction, it’ll be Party 2’s turn. With the validation of a Cast Member at the entrance of the attraction, Party 2 can ride the attraction without waiting in line. Rider Switch is offered at a number of attractions, but remember you’ll want to talk with the Cast Member at the entrance to begin the process.
