We are going to the special Halloween event at Magic Kingdom. Do all the kids wear costumes? I am concerned about it being too hot for a buzz costume . Do most of the kids wear Disney? There are not a lot of choices for boys. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi, Mindy! Not only do the kids dress up, but you will see a lot of grown ups in costume, too at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! I had a little "Buzz Lightyear" dress up a few years ago, and we visited around the first week in October.  Plus, my other little boy dressed as "Captain Jack Sparrow," and my tween girl dressed as a "50s girl." All three of them shed their costumes at some point during the evening because of the heat, but we kept the costumes close by for pictures and trick-or-treating. My children wore lightweight tees and shorts underneath so that we didn't have to worry about ducking into the bathrooms each time they took their costumes off or put them back on again. Oh yes, and remember that comfortable shoes are of the essence!

I suggest making sure that whatever costume you choose make sure you bring a bag to carry it in, too.  One of those lightweight sack-type backpacks with the long pull strings would be ideal to put a costume in or to collect trick-or-treat candy. I hope this helps you plan!

Enjoy MNSSHP and if you're an autograph collector, don't forget your pen and book! There are more characters at the party than I've ever seen anywhere else! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
